Topics include: basics of pQCD, asymptotic freedom, deep inelastic scattering, hard scatterings, jets, gluon radiation, jet quenching, CGC in pA and AA scattering, small x-physics and saturation, numerical methods in high gluon density QCD, overview of RHIC high pT data and interpretation

Lectures (about 30 hours) and exercises/seminars

It is open to PhD students.

The block course is supported by the Deutsch-Französische Hochschule - Université Franco-Allemande the DFG Research Group "Matter under Extreme Conditions" and the DFG supported International Graduate School, GRK 881, "Quantum Fields and Strongly Interacting Matter: From Vacuum to Extreme Density and Temperature Conditions".
