FINITE TEMPERATURE PHASE TRANSITIONS
IN PARTICLE PHYSICS
A Training, Mobility and Research (TMR) Network
for Numerical and Analytical Studies
of Phase Transitions in Strongly and Weakly Interacting Matter of
Elementary Particles
Established by the EU in 1997
Duration: December 1, 1997 -- November 30, 2001
EU contract no.: FMRX-CT97-0122
Research Objectives:
The scientific aim of the collaboration network is the investigation of
the thermodynamics and critical behaviour (phase transitions) predicted by
the laws of particle physics for matter under extreme conditions.
The goal is to reach a quantitative understanding
of the non-perturbative physics of the electroweak
and quark-hadron phase transitions,
a precise determination of characteristic physical
parameters of these finite-T phase transitions
and a study of the interplay between topological structures and phase
transitions.
