QCD on Teraflops Computer

Computing resources in the Teraflops range rapidly became available to the Lattice QCD community. We plan to have a workshop on Teraflops computing at which we can exchange first experiences with this new generation of computers and discuss future perspectives of large scale computing.

The workshop will be held at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF) at Bielefeld University from
October 11th to 13th, 2006.

Topics to be discussed include:
Machines and Networks
Improved Algorithms and Actions
Chiral Symmetry
Heavy Quarks
High Temperature QCD
QCD at Finite Density
Topology
Weak Decays

Speakers invited so far include:
G. Aarts
D. Becirevic
A. DiGiacomo
Z. Fodor
C. Gattringer
S. Hands
U. Heller
E.-M. Ilgenfritz
S. Katz
A. Kennedy
M. Müller-Preussker
O. Philipsen
T. Wettig

People interested in participation are invited to apply for talks by providing a title and abstract in the registration form. The deadline for registration and title and abstract submission is September 17th, 2006. There will be a workshop fee of Euro 100 covering coffee and snacks during breaks and a workshop dinner.

The workshop is part of the educational program of the DFG funded International Research Training Group (Internat. Graduiertenkolleg) GRK 881 ``Quantum Fields and Strongly Interacting Matter'' of the Universities Paris 11 (Orsay) and Bielefeld. Therefore, in particular PhD students and young post-docs are invited to apply for a presentation of their (thesis) work.

Please note that there will be a block course on ``Phase Transitions in Statistical Physics and Field Theory'' preceeding the workshop (October 4th to 9th) as well as a pre-workshop colloquium on October 10th.

We would appreciate your help in distributing this information to people who might be interested.

With best regards Olaf Kaczmarek, Frithjof Karsch, Edwin Laermann
